Who is a good candidate?
Anyone looking to refresh their skin with a minimally invasive procedure is an ideal candidate for microneedling. This treatment covers a range of skin concerns: acne scarring and stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles, rough or uneven texture and enlarged pores.
When will I see results?
Unlike filler, microneedling improves skin quality so results are progressively shown over a few weeks and definitely worth the wait. Your skin's response to the tiny pinpoint needle injuries is to create new collagen and elastin to heal itself. Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling effectively
remodels your skin overtime by promoting collagen production for up to six months or more. You will see visible results from 1-2 months post-treatment.
How long will my results last?
Ideally for best results, we recommend a series of three treatments every 4-6 weeks to target your specific skin issues. If doing 3 treatments consecutively, you only need to maintain your results with at least one session of microneedling every 6-12 months. If doing a single session, expect to need a maintenance treatment in 6 months or less.
Is there downtime with this procedure?
Yes, you will leave our office looking like you have a mild to moderate sunburn. Depending on what your goals are and depth of treatment, you might be visibly red for 2-3 days. After the redness, your skin will start to become dry and flakey, possibly itchy also. It's crucial to promote and speed up your skin's recovery with a moisturizer or post-treatment cream. You will noticeably enjoy fresh, brighter skin around day 7, during which it is safe to resume use of your normal skincare products.
